AI for SMEs: Final Month to Submit Applications

We have officially entered the final month to submit applications to the Artificial Intelligence program under Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) — a unique opportunity for SMEs to accelerate technology adoption and innovation with non-repayable grants of up to €300,000.

What does this PRR call cover?

According to the Government’s Application Guide, eligible investments are those carried out between January 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026, with a maximum execution period of 24 months.

Two main project types are covered:

• AI for productivity: virtual assistants, document automation, predictive systems;
• Business-applied AI: chatbots, recommendation systems, sales forecasting, sentiment analysis.
